I stared at the screen, bored out of my mind, fidgiting in my chair as I waited for the CD to load. A list of music appeared on the 'now playing' list, and as I reached for the mouse to click play, one of the songs began to play.
I blinked a couple of times, and my brow furrowed in confusion. I hadn't remembered putting that song on the CD...
"What the..." I muttered, slightly unsettled. A few more moments passed before I finally realized the music was not coming from Windows Media, but rather a playlist I had opened on the internet.
Feeling thoroughly stupid, I switched the screen and pressed pause on the playlist. Silence met my ears before I heard the sound of someone's voice, just barely there.
"I love you..."
The words were quickly spoken, and so softly spoken that it was hard to believe I had heard it at all. My doubts grew as I spun quickly around, only to find no one behind me.
"Um..." I said out loud, my eyes widening and darting from side to side, searching. When still I found nothing, I wondered if I had truly lost my mind. Or maybe, I decided, I was just being haunted by some creepy ghost that was in love with me.
As I turned back to the computer, only one thought lingered in my mind.
I wonder if it's a cute ghost?
